+1 Very Happy

@WP
Thanks, I think I'll just keep that one for running older games that don't cope well with NT and fast CPU's.
Zork1 however, laughs at NT and a fast CPU - nothing intimates a Grue! Very Happy

"You have been killed by a Grue."
Such a good game. ^_^
But yeah, it's so old and so portable that I even saw some guy have the full game of Zork as his 404 error page for his website; it was written in PHP. Madness. Very Happy

Tea, which makes you healthier
Monday 13 November 2006

Hallöchen, folkies Smile Hach, isn't it a fine day today? My computer works like it had done previously, nearly a bit better, except that some important programs (ie for opening PDF files) are not installed... But jeez, why get into a hectic rush ? Smile Everything chilling today... Smooth and so on... Smile .... Folks, I can tell you one thing: The last two days were the days of "nothing can floor me" types. Honestly: Everybody I met was on the ball. Everybody! Very Happy Can you grasp that? Well, it seems to be infectious... And what still doesn't want to ease is my cold. Ok, my be because I don't use antibiotics this time. You don't have to fight it with the sledge-hammer....

Mum therefore was in a health food store to buy the great "Get better"-tea. She calls my cell phone this afternoon and purred smysteriously "I've got something for you..." So I run home - and my mother is standing there, beaming, with a package of tea. Well :/ .... But, as if this wasn't enough, she gets another package out of her hand bag: Tea, which makes you prettier. And then I thought, The worst present you can make somebody, is something like shower gel or deodorant. I mean, what are you to think about that? "Oh, thanks that you noticed my smell of perpiration" ? Razz ... No, honestly, that was really kind of my Mum - but a little inconsiderate. In exchange she will get a huge pot of anti-wrinkle balm for christmas. Hrhrhr.... Very Happy ... But apropos presents: You don't believe how much I look forward to my birthday. Honestly, 20 somehow is an age which depresses me - because it's my second big "0" and I'll have a 2 as the first digit in my age. Oh well, I think this will ease off by and by.... And you know: Life finally ends with 30... Wink (little joke, by the way....)

Anyway... I look forward to my birhday, though. Because of the presents, actually. Smile Oooooh.... what am I anxious! I LOVE surprises! (Provided that they are positive).... But all in all.... Its the same with birthdays as with school enrolment then: I wasn't looking forward to the start of school - but the more about my "Zuckertüte" [Remark: mostly known as "Schultüte" - large cornet of cardboard filled with sweets and little presents given to children in Germany on their first day at school. See pictures and detailed explanations here and here. -HOT]
... And if I had known at that time that I had to attend school so many years for this Zuckertüte....... Wink

So, as a well tempered, I say today....

Music sounds better with: "The Kooks" - "Ooh la" ... Razz ....

Tessatina! Smile TessaOntheball!

While you can, Tessa, install Foxit Reader for your PDFs instead. It's way less cluttered and much faster than the official Acrobat Reader. Cool

(or were you using Foxit before as well? Very Happy)

Thanks for all the translations HOT, and thanks to Tessa for keeping up the blog while viruses were keeping her down. Last week was busy for me so I didn't get a chance to check in much, so I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Smile

There was a curious reference in one of the blogs to a "lantern procession". Is that a German festival or religious event? Sounds interesting. Smile

Max, maybe it has religous roots, but nowadays (mostly younger) children walk with their paper lantern (lampion) on a wooden stick through the streets, often headed by a brass band. Image

"Oh Lord, throw brain from heaven!"
Thursday 16 November 2006

Okay. My back is tense, I still cough, my nose and my fingers are cold and I am relatively tired. Pinkerton already sleeps for hours in his basket, which is besides my computer on my desk. You should be a cat! Sad

There is not much to report at the mooment, my day was relatively harmless... (Yes, "relatively".)

But, hey, I have a question for you: What should be written on a poster, which shows a package of Tempos [Ed.: famous brand of tissue handkerchiefs -HOT]
, to make you buy it? Which are meant for a younger target group? I think about this question half of the day now.... I collected already a few ideas und wrote them down. But you can't have enough ideas and incentives for those [Ed.: for what?? -HOT] , do you? Smile

Push "Orson" - "No Tomorrow" to your ears again, I will hit the sack and dream of tissue handkerchiefs, which can fly... Or similar!

Tessa.Cough.
